Graham Harris - UK Sales Manager
During a career that has spanned four decades Graham Harris has experienced highly diverse working environments, from the largest to the smallest of companies. From the "City of London" to a shed in his back garden, Graham has gained a breadth of experience, giving him a unique insight into the variety of different problems today's businesses face.
From a beginning in the stock and money markets Graham moved to into his first sales role with Lombard North Central, providing leasing and HP packages to businesses. In his mid-twenties he co-developed a business designing, manufacturing and installing stained glass and leaded light windows. It was this experience that gave him a "hands-on" understanding of all the challenges that face the small businessman. Six years down the road, and unable to agree with his fellow partners over the future business direction, Harris left to return to a more conventional sales career in Imaging Business Solutions - or Photocopiers as they're more commonly known. Three years with West London based, Eurocopy, helped develop business to business skills and embedded basic sales rules that are applicable in most environments. In the late eighties the lure of telecoms beckoned, with Harris joining Swiss manufacturer Ascom, initially to manage large corporate and government accounts. Then came the launch of the Ascotel ISDN PABX and after initial direct sales success, Harris took up the challenge of developing a reseller channel for a product that was, in its day, very much at the leading edge of technology. Harris linked up with Frank Bretherton and Jeremy Cooke for the first time in 1995, when he joined SDX Business Systems as a Regional Business Manager at the time of the INDeX launch. Responsible for managing the business relationships with resellers in the south of England until SDX was acquired by Lucent Technologies in mid-1998, Harris was subsequently promoted to oversee all Lucent's indirect product sales in the UK. The Enterprise Networking arm of Lucent was spun off as Avaya in October 2001, providing a further opportunity for Harris to advance his career as UK Channel Development Director. In this role, he was responsible for the delivery and implementation of Avaya's global multi-channel strategy on a regional basis. Harris joined SpliceCom in April 2002. | Graham Harris | UK Sales Manager | | Extension Anywhere | +44 (0)1923 287712 | | Email |
