On The Road and At Home SpliceCom’s Extension Anywhere feature set allows maximiser users’ access to extended telephony facilities wherever they may be; in the office, working from home or on the road. Extension Anywhere delivers a consistent user “experience” and is totally independent of handset - analogue, mobile or IP Phones can all be used - and delivery, which can be over traditional PSTN, GSM or IP/VPN services.
GSM/Mobile Extension
maximiser allows GSM/Mobile phones to be used as integrated extensions. Not only can calls be automatically and manually forwarded to any GSM/Mobile phones but, once received a call can be put on hold and then transferred to any on – or off – switch phone. * Ideal for : Mobile workforce * Equipment needed : GSM/Mobile phone * Services : GSM GSM/Mobile Remote Working GSM/Mobile Remote Working allows a mobile phone user access to exactly the same facilities they would get from a maximiser system phone. Call control, system directories, busy lamp field/direct station select and messaging are all available by “pairing” the mobile with SpliceCom’s PCS 60 Phone Partner application running on a Windows or Mac OS X laptop PC, or PCS 50 with Linux platforms. This solution is great for homeworkers, how can use their existing DSL/VPN services. However, with the rise of Wireless based VPN services - such as BT OpenZone – and their proliferation in public places – conference centres, hotels, airports, coffee shops, restaurants, etc. – this is the ideal solution for the mobile workforce. All voice calls are carried across the GSM network, so the VPN service is only used for call control between the PCS 60 and PCS 50 applications and maximiser. This means that the current lack of any Quality of Service offering on these Wireless VPN solutions – likewise on residential DSL provision - has no effect on voice quality. * Ideal for : Mobile Workforce & Homeworkers * Equipment needed : GSM/Mobile Phone PCS 60 Phone Partner on Windows or Mac OS X laptop (PCS 50 on Linux) * Services : GSM Wireless or fixed VPN – QoS not required Analogue Remote Working
maximiser’s unique architecture allows the PCS 60 and PCS 50 applications to “partner” with the PCS 10 and PCS 5 business phones – or existing analogue home phones. Voice calls are placed across the PSTN network, whilst call control and access to system directories and other facilities is achieved using the PCS 60 on a Windows or Mac OS X PC - and PCS 50 on Linux - across any existing IP VPN/Remote Access data link; DSL, ISDN or even dial-up modem. Because of this QoS is not required on the datalink. * Ideal for : Homeworkers & Small Offices * Equipment needed : PCS 10, PCS 5 or existing analogue phone PCS 60 Phone Partner on Windows or Mac OS X PC or laptop (PCS 50 on Linux) * Services : PSTN IP/DSL VPN – QoS not required IP Remote Working SpliceCom’s PCS 410 and PCS 100 IP Terminals and PCS 60 IP Softphones can all be run as remote extensions across IP/VPN services. In this particular implementation, voice is transmitted across the IP network so QoS provision is considered mandatory. * Ideal for : Homeworkers & Small Offices * Equipment needed : PCS 410, PCS 100 PCS 60 IP Softphone on Windows and Mac OS X PC or laptop * Services : IP/DSL VPN – QoS required |
