Traditional Telephony

Many businesses will have already deployed large quantities of Analogue phones for use with their old telephone systems. In most cases these phones can be re-used with maximiser - and further energised through the use of SpliceCom's PCS 60 & PCS 50 application running as a "partner" to the phone, providing access to advanced telephony features and convergence with web-enabled applications.

With all the focus on IP Telephony and Voice over IP its easy to overlook the business benefits, in terms of both cost and effectiveness, to be gained from deploying an analogue telephony solution across an IP infrastructure. As a pure IP business telephone system maximiser is unique in its ability to support high densities of analogue handsets - up to 10,000 on the 5 Series and 100,000 on maximiser XS - through the use of the 5315 and 5330 Phone Modules. These modules connect to the 5100 and XS Call Servers via the LAN network, allowing them to be distributed exactly where they're needed - rather than having to be centralised in the comms room. With up to 30 phone calls being placed across a single Ethernet cable the amount of copper plant required is greatly reduced too. As such, maximiser is the ideal next-generation replacement for large traditional PBXs.

Existing analogue phones can be reused providing further investment protection and reducing capital costs. maximiser supports BT's standard for Caller Display, allowing your employees to see who's calling and what number they've called, before they answer. The Caller Display also gives an indication of any outstanding voicemail messages. Existing analogue phones can be further energised by running SpliceCom's PCS 60 or PCS 50 as a "Phone Partner" on your PC or laptop computer. This makes all of the market leading features that can be found on SpliceCom's top-of-the range PCS 410 IP Phone available to those with analogue phones. PCS 60 is available for Windows and Mac OS X platforms whilst PCS 50 works with Linux, so it doesn't matter what computers you use.

Still running fax machines or modems? These too can be connected to maximiser's Phone Modules, allowing the total number of trunk lines required by your company to be reduced and so increase your overall Telecomms efficiency.
