Legacy PBX Investment Protection Programme
SpliceCom, Britain’s leading developer of telephone systems, has announced a multi-level, investment protection programme for existing PBXs including; Avaya INDeX, BT/Nortel Meridian, Ericsson MD110, Mitel SX2000, Siemens iSDX/Realitis & iSLX. “There are thousands of existing PBXs out there continuing to give good service,” says Stuart Bell, SpliceCom’s Business Development Manager for UK and Ireland. “However, there are new services and applications that these systems, developed in the 80’s and 90’s just weren’t designed to handle, which is where we at SpliceCom can help.” SIP Trunk connectivity is one such requirement. “Companies across the board are now embracing SIP services in order to benefit from lower line rentals, reduced call charges and significant commercial benefits when moving out of area, or should they wish to offer local numbers for consumer based services,” continues Bell. “Maximiser OS is a voice platform built on the latest IP technology, but one which also embraces legacy PBX support including ISDN S/T trunks, DPNSS and high density analogue handset connectivity. By deploying Maximiser OS as a SIP to ISDN or DPNSS Gateway, in soft, hard or virtualised form, businesses can take advantage of new IP services, whilst retaining their existing investment in older technology.” Connecting a legacy PBX to a Maximiser OS platform allows users to take advantage of other “must-have” features and business applications including:
- Mobility utilising Smart Phones and Tablets to reduce call charges
- Secure Homeworking using IP Phone, IP Softphone, Smart Phones or Tablets
- DECT replacement using WiFi, negating the need for two wireless architectures
- Informal (Customer Service, Help Desk, etc.) and formal call centres
- Agent and Supervisor support
- Historic and real-time business management tools
- Least busy, longest idle and skills based routing
- Trunk recording
- Additional extensions and trunks where the existing PBX might be at full capacity
- Voicemail, unified messaging, auto attendant and IVR facilities
- Meet-Me-Conferencing
- Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (DR) support
